Mossad chief David Barnea reportedly visited the United Arab Emirates at least twice during Operation Roaring Lion to coordinate security and war-related matters amid the conflict with Iran, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal.
The report said Barnea traveled to the UAE in March and April as Israel and the Emirates deepened strategic cooperation during the war.
It followed separate reports claiming the UAE was behind covert strikes on Iranian assets, including attacks on the Lavan Island refinery, in response to Iranian strikes targeting Emirati civilian and energy infrastructure.
The growing coordination comes as US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee recently confirmed that Israel deployed Iron Dome batteries and personnel to the UAE to help defend against Iranian missile and drone attacks, describing relations between the two countries as “extraordinary.”
