The United States is nearing delivery of the first of atleast six KC-46 aerial refueling aircraft to Israel.
The development comes after years of delay.The Israel’s defense Ministry states that the first aircraft, dubbed Gideon, has completed its maiden test flight in the United States.
It is expected to arrive in Israel within one monthIt is a major upgrade for the IAF, potentially for its operational independence in conducting long-range missions against distant targets, including Iran and other regional adversaries.
