The Al-Qard Al-Hasan Association, widely regarded as Hezbollah’s main financial arm, has resumed operations in Beirut despite extensive Israeli strikes during the recent conflict, according to a report by Saudi-owned Al-Arabiya.
The report said a branch in the Haret Hreik area of southern Beirut’s Dahieh district reopened on Saturday, months after the IDF targeted roughly 30 facilities linked to the organization during fighting with Hezbollah.
Al-Qard Al-Hasan reportedly approached Lebanese authorities seeking permission to resume activity after wartime restrictions halted its operations.
Lebanese sources said the association’s permits had been suspended earlier this year amid pressure from the United States and concerns over Hezbollah-linked financing networks.
The institution has been under US sanctions since 2007, while Lebanon’s central bank banned financial entities from dealing with it in July 2025 following increased international scrutiny.
