Israel’s top security bodies—Mossad, Shin Bet, and the Israel Defense Forces—have issued a rare joint statement revealing details of a widespread Iranian network accused of targeting Israeli interests worldwide.
According to the announcement, senior figures connected to Unit 4000 of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Intelligence division were eliminated during the recent conflict involving Israel and the United States against Iran.
Earlier in March, authorities in Azerbaijan reported that they had successfully disrupted multiple planned attacks linked to Iran.
These plots allegedly included targeting Israel’s embassy in Baku, a synagogue, and prominent members of the local Jewish community. The timing of Israel’s joint disclosure—coming several weeks after Azerbaijan’s announcement—remains unclear.
However, analysts suggest it may serve to highlight operational successes following the recent conflict, particularly if hostilities with Iran have eased.
